Black Bean, Cous cous salad.

Okay, I'll bite. I have nothing too creative as I thrive on convenience. So, this recipe is kind of special in its own way - it is easy to make mostly fool proof, and more importantly it takes all of 10 minutes to make.

1 onion (finely chopped)
1 green bell pepper (cut into 1 cubic cm pieces)
2 Roma tomatoes (1 cubic cm pieces again)
1/2 cup sliced mushroom
1 celery heart (finely cut)
1 15 oz can black beans
2 cups plain couscous
1/4th tbsp olive oil
2 cups water
salt to taste
cilantro leaves for garnish

Heat olive oil in a pan add onion and mushrooms and cook till onions turn transparent. Add cous cous to pain and 2 cups of water. Add salt to taste. Cook couscous till it is fully done and fluff out with a fork. Cool and mix in with other ingredients. Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve. You can also cook the couscous in broth for flavor or add olives.

hmm,
Looks like this is going to be the first post...

It's hot in Hyderabad,
the forty three degrees Celsius hot ,
not the kind of heat that you joke about.

I was multi-tasking when I checked my email and read Amritha's invite. Concoctions...such a beautiful name.. It immediately reminded of wonderful dishes, and a melting pot of oodles of ideas.

However since I was sweltering in the heat, the only great idea that I had was to go and make myself a chilled pitcher of Aam panna!

I am sure that most of you know what it is and how refreshing it is on a hot summer day. For those who don't know how to make it ,
Here's the recipe.
It's amazingly simple!!

Aam panna
1 raw mango
boil it , mash it and strain the pulp through a sieve.
Add salt , black salt, jeera powder ( roasted cumin powder ), sugar to taste.
Add a couple of mint leave ( for decoration- optional)
Voila , your drink to save you from the heat is ready!!!

For any doubts, use Google ! :-)
